ProVenue in 2019

Throughout 2019, venues and sports organisations across the UK have upgraded to the industry-leading ProVenue® platform from Tickets.com®.

Across the arts, entertainment and sport industries, venues are taking advantage of the platform’s integrated features, which are specifically designed to help clients access, understand, and capitalise on their own consumer data.

In the first half of 2019, Tickets.com announced it had extended its relationship with Hillingdon Council. In time for the busy summer schedule, the borough implemented ProVenue to manage all ticketing requirements across a multitude of events and venues in the Greater London area.

The hosted web-based solution (SaaS) offers Hillingdon Council intuitive ticketing and marketing processes, improving ease-of-use for the general public, streamlining day-to-day operations for volunteers and staff, and expanding opportunities for consumer engagement.

As the year progressed, University Concert Hall and The Lights, two longstanding Tickets.com customers, also upgraded to ProVenue to take advantage of the latest ticketing technology.

University Concert Hall, a 1000-seat venue on the University of Limerick campus, now has the ability to provide its patrons with a premium digital experience–more convenient options for buying tickets, receiving tickets, and entering the venue.

The multi-purpose system, whilst continuing to support traditional barcode scanning, also allows patrons to receive and display tickets digitally on their mobile phones, simultaneously allowing the venue to track real-time customer stats as needed or automatically through scheduled reports.

The Lights, a multi-purpose venue in Andover that offers a full professional programme of music, theatre, comedy and dance, chose ProVenue in 2019 with the particular aim to modernise its patron and staff experience.

In 2019 The Lights debuted MyProVenue, the next-generation customer-facing web application built for speed. MyProVenue, supported by self-service configuration through ProVenue, is providing The Lights with a new level of control over the online purchase experience.

This autumn, Dundee Football Club launched ProVenue to satisfy all ticketing requirements for the start of the 2019/20 Scottish Premiership football season. The platform extends the club’s data capture capabilities significantly, enhancing the club’s ability to analyse fan trends and improve fan engagement. Another highlight for the club is the platform’s inventory management, which allows centralised control over ticket sales and the features available to patrons through a variety of sales channels.

The HubSainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, and Rosehill Theatre are among the other UK venues benefitting from a successful launch of ProVenue in 2019.

T.Cares Heart

2019 sees T.Cares grow

Throughout 2019, the Tickets.com UK team continued to embrace the T.Cares programme by supporting a number of initiatives in Milton Keynes and the surrounding area.

Through the global T.Cares initiative, Tickets.com employees seek to support the communities where they work and live – from charity fundraising and community service, to creating unforgettable experiences for those in need.

Earlier this year, staff volunteered at Emily’s Star to make up boxes for neonatal babies and new mothers in the area as part of the charity’s Neonatal Box Project.

Neonatal Box Project is a new initiative where the Emily’s Star delivered over 6,500 boxes to local and national neonatal units. The boxes created are emergency hospital necessities for babies born prematurely or underweight.

Tickets.com UK staff also showed their support by donating ten corporate hospitality tickets for the recent Bristol Rovers vs Milton Keynes (MK) Dons game in Sky Bet League One to the Bristol Rovers Community Trust and the ‘Gas Girls’ a Senior and Under 18 football team.

The Bristol Rovers Community Trust works with a variety of community offerings on social inclusion, health, education and sports participation projects to give back to the community.

Most recently, Tickets.com donated four VIP matchday tickets to the home game against Coventry in Sky Bet League One to the Henry Allen Trust’s Treats and Wishes program.

The Henry Allen Trust was formed in memory of Henry Allen who tragically lost his battle with cancer in October 2013. The family chosen by the trust were treated to a once in a lifetime experience including a full stadium tour pre-match, lunch, pitch side access and were on hand for the Man of the Match presentations after the game in Club Platinum.

Two longstanding Tickets.com customers choose to integrate new ticketing technology

University Concert Hall and The Lights have chosen to continue their successful partnerships with Tickets.com by migrating across to ProVenue®, Tickets.com’s most advanced platform.

ProVenue®, a hosted web-based solution offers intuitive ticketing and marketing tools that provide faster, easier transactions for patrons as well as deliver extensive data capture opportunities and new ways to analyse trends and enhance visitor engagement.

University Concert Hall (UCH) is a 1000 seat venue on the University of Limerick campus that has hosted some of the biggest names in music, opera, comedy, drama and more. The venue recently integrated ProVenue® to provide its patrons with a premium digital experience and more options when purchasing tickets, including how they wish to receive them.

A Tickets.com customer since 1994, UCH will implement many of the new system’s advanced features including Alfred – Tickets.com’s latest advancement in access control. The multi-purpose system, whilst continuing to support real-time barcode scanning, allows patrons to have their tickets delivered to their phone and the venue to utilise real-time scheduled reports relating to key customer stats.

The Lights is a multi-purpose venue in Andover that offers a full professional programme of music, theatre, comedy and dance together with an arts related education and training programme. It is also widely recognised as the hub for creative activity in the area.

The venue, a Tickets.com customer since 2006, has chosen to introduce ProVenue® to create a more modern ticketing experience for patrons. And, as with UCH, The Lights will utilise another of ProVenue®’s innovative features, MyProVenue™ – a next-generation customer-facing web application built for speed.

MyProVenue™ will streamline every dimension of the customer experience, from purchasing tickets to managing account preferences, all within a responsive framework that works across desktop and mobile devices.

The Lights have migrated across to ProVenue® to upgrade the online visitor experience whilst also using the platform’s intuitive framework to simplify day-to-day operations for staff. The venue will also be looking to utilise many of ProVenue®’s in-built functionalities including its advanced reporting tools to control data and plan targeted marketing campaigns to segmented audiences.

Tickets.com UK supports the Bristol Rovers Community Trust

The Tickets.com team in the UK continue to show their support to the T.Cares programme by giving ten corporate hospitality tickets to the Bristol Rovers Community Trust for the recent Bristol Rovers vs Milton Keynes (MK) Dons game in Sky Bet League One.

Through the global T.Cares initiative, Tickets.com employees seek to support the communities where they work and live – from charity fundraising and community service, to creating unforgettable experiences for those in need.

The UK team chose to support Bristol Rovers Community Trust in support of ‘The Return of the Gas Girls.’ The trust recently announced the return of a Senior Women’s football team alongside an Under 18s side for the 2019/20 season. The ‘Gas Girls’ were originally formed in 1998 but became Bristol Academy WFC in 2005 before finally becoming Bristol City Women’s Football Club in 2015. Now, for the first time since 2005, Bristol Rovers are being represented in the English Women’s football pyramid.

Tickets.com chose to give ten corporate hospitality tickets to the ‘Gas Girls’ for the home match against MK Dons at The Memorial Stadium as many of the young women involved in the team had never had the opportunity to attend a first team fixture, let alone sit in the hospitality seats.

Adam Tutton, Bristol Rovers Community Trust CEO and Women’s Chairman said: “Everyone at Bristol Rovers Community Trust are incredibly thankful for the generous donation of 10 hospitality tickets from the team at Tickets.com. The re-launched Bristol Rovers Women’s team thoroughly enjoyed their day at The Memorial Stadium. It was a great opportunity to offer the girls this experience and become a presence at the club.”

Commenting on the day, Natalie Jones, Internal Sales Manager at Tickets.com explained: “Women’s football is going from strength to strength, and it is great to see the re-launch of the ‘Gas Girls’ as Bristol Rover’s senior women’s team. We were delighted to be able to provide what was the first ever first team experience for many of the players and all from the comfort of the hospitality seats. We hope they all enjoyed themselves and best of luck for the season!”

Tickets.com UK supports Emily’s Star Neonatal Box Project through T.Cares Initiative

Tickets.com employees in the UK continue to show their support to the T.Cares programme and last week, staff volunteered at Emily’s Star to make up boxes for neonatal babies and mums in the area as part of the charity’s Neonatal Box Project.

Through the global T.Cares initiative, Tickets.com employees seek to support the communities where they work and live – from charity fundraising and community service, to creating unforgettable experiences for those in need.

The UK team recently chose to support Emily’s Star, a local charity formed in 2012 by Katie Elmer, to support children – and their families – with life limiting or life-threatening illnesses. The charity was created in memory of Emily Elizabeth who was born with Trisomy 18, a life limiting disorder, and was given just four days to live. Emily, against all odds, made it to 26 days before sadly passing away.

Six employees of Tickets.com went to support the charity’s pioneering Neonatal Box Project initiative which has seen Emily’s Star deliver over 6,500 boxes to local and national neonatal units. The boxes are an emergency hospital bag in a box for babies born prematurely or underweight.

Katie Elmer, Founder of Emily’s Star, said: “Emily’s Star relies solely on the support of individuals and companies to enable us to continue the work we do locally and nationally. Having volunteers from Tickets.com attend a box making session ensured that we were able to produce, send out and donate 100 Emily’s Gift Neonatal Boxes to units across the UK.

“100 babies in the next few weeks will receive a box which was lovingly put together by the volunteers. Each box we create costs us £40 to donate, so we were thrilled that Tickets.com also sponsored two of the boxes that were made yesterday!”

Commenting on the day spent at the charity, Natalie Jones, Internal Sales Manager at Tickets.com commented: “It was an inspiring day at Emily’s Star to learn more about Katie and her team’s amazing work, and then have the opportunity to play our part in the lives of 100 prematurely born babies. We hope the boxes make a real difference at the most difficult of times.”

ProVenue®: The UK Story So Far

Since the 2014 launch of ProVenue® in the UK, Tickets.com® has integrated a growing number of UK clients to the industry-leading platform.

Across the arts, entertainment and sport industries, venues are taking advantage of the platform’s integrated features, which are specifically designed to help clients access, understand, and capitalise on their own consumer data.

Most recently, Tickets.com extended its partnership with Dundee Football Club, which will see the Scottish Premiership migrate to the ProVenue platform for the 2019/2020 season. The organisation will use the system’s data capture features to foundationally strengthen long-term fan engagement, while also improving the fan experience with the easy-to-use e-commerce and account management features that become possible with ProVenue integration.

Tickets.com will once again support the Monster Energy FIM Speedway of Nations, one of the speedway’s biggest competitions, when it returns to the National Speedway Stadium in May 2019. As a customer since 2016, the National Speedway Stadium is home to the Speedway Great Britain Premiership club, the Belle Vue Aces, who also use ProVenue to manage all ticketing.

The Harlequin Theatre, another longstanding client, migrated to ProVenue to be more competitive in the ever-expanding digital marketplace, encouraged by the responsive design of the selling interface and the ease with which the platform allows ticket selling and event administration to work in tandem.

Other arts and visitor attraction venues making the switch in recent times include the award-winning Roald Dahl Museum & Story Centre, Town Hall Theatre Galway, Music Mania and Mitchell Arts Centre—all of whom chose ProVenue to revolutionise the customer experience and improve in-house ticketing operations.

Guildhall Winchester, a new customer to Tickets.com, recently integrated ProVenue into their operations and will go live imminently with Alfred, the latest advancement in mobile Access Control from Tickets.com.

Venues refer to the ProVenue platform’s flexibility as a key reason for partnering with Tickets.com or migrating from legacy products. As ticket purchasing behaviours have become more on-demand and self-service, MyProVenue™ has helped venues such as The Theatre Chipping Norton, Trinity Arts Centre and Leeds College of Music adapt and provide their consumers with a simple and convenient way to buy tickets online, anytime.

Tickets.com works with a range of sectors across the UK and Ireland and continues to evolve its industry leading ProVenue technology. The recent introduction of its Membership and Loyalty (don’t we have another T.News story to link to for this?) features has generated a lot of interest, and with more powerful features on the way, the Summer of 2019 promises many more migrations to ProVenue.

Nick Kinsella, Technical Account Manager, said: “ProVenue continues to grow across the UK with many venues choosing to migrate to enhance the experience for fans and patrons.

“We are especially delighted to announce the extension of our partnership with Chesterfield Theatres, which will allow the organisation to manage ticket sales across a multitude of sales points including The Pomegranate and Winding Wheel Theatres, a call centre and their Visitor Information Centre.  Equally we are thrilled to extend our long-term relationship with Dundee Football Club who will benefit from the digital approach Tickets.com has adopted.

“We are very excited about the future of the ProVenue suite of products including MyProVenue and Alfred. The intuitive design and interfaces allow for self-administration and self-service at the touch of a fingertip.”

Tickets.com will be up against entries from Regiondo Pro, Ingresso, TiXX Sports and Skiddle, who have also been shortlisted for projects from across Europe.

“As Europe’s leading gathering of entertainment ticketing professionals, each year Ticketing Technology Forum brings together the very best of the industry to showcase what’s new, explore the challenges we face and debate the future trends,” says Ian Nuttall, Founder, Ticketing Technology Forum.

“Alongside the conference and workshops, this year we will also celebrate and recognize those people and organizations which are changing the way we service the ticketing needs of our customers.

Tickets.com supports fourth bi-annual Milton Keynes International Festival

Tickets.com is working with longstanding client the Stables to provide a complete ticketing solution for next month’s Milton Keynes International Festival.

IF:2016 is the fourth edition of the bi-annual festival; run by the Stables, the International Festival is a mixed arts event held at different venues in and around Milton Keynes. In 2014, over 25,000 tickets were sold, bringing together 267 professional artists and acts across the ten days.

Tickets.com has worked with the Stables for more than 15 years and has provided ticketing for the festival since it began in 2010; this includes the provision of additional hardware and support from the Tickets.com service desk to ensure the smooth running of the multi-venue festival, which requires remote access to the ticketing system.

“The Tickets.com technical team play a vital role in the setup of our Festival box offices, which begins two months out from the event,” explains Sharona Voigtlander-Ford, box office promotions manager at the Stables.

“With such a busy programme scheduled across multiple venues, its essential that we have a ticketing provider who not only ensures that each event is set up correctly and that our staff have the necessary equipment in place to manage the ticketing, but who are also on-hand throughout the ten days to support with any changes or further requests. Knowing that the Tickets.com team are able to do this – and often at short notice – is fantastic and a real asset to ensuring the successful delivery of the Festival.”

Nick Kinsella, technical account manager at Tickets.com, said: “Having worked with the Stables for many years, we’ve got a great relationship with the team and an in-depth understanding of their ticketing requirements. The International Festival is a busy event and one that we look forward to being a part of; many of our staff live locally and take the time to attend some of the events, so it’s great to be able to show our support in this way too.”

This year’s festival will feature both indoor and outdoor performances including stand-up comedy, live music, family activities, free events and pop-ups; focused on encouraging more people to discover different art forms and help boost tourism in the area.
