Fresh off claiming the USL Championship’s Eastern Conference Title, the Tampa Bay Rowdies will host the Western Conference’s Phoenix Rising FC at Al Lang Stadium in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. It’s the first USL Championship Final for the Rowdies, and Tickets.com is exhilarated to be there as the official ticketing solution for the world-class entertainment that will light up the night at one of the most scenic venues in North America.

Throughout the USL Championship’s regular season and playoffs there have been restrictions and limitations on the number fans in attendance. With the help of safety measures and configurations within Tickets.com’s ProVenue technology, the Championship Final is sold out to the tune of 1,500 fans.

Safety Measures in Play

Since the USL Championship resumed play in July, it has worked diligently to do so safely using a combination of ProVenue ticketing technology with safety protocols to make this possible. Venues have maximized social distancing, used sanitization and PPE to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, and there has been rigorous screening, comprehensive testing regimen, and training to educate payers, staff, and fans.

The technology at Al Lang Stadium in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida is state-of-the-art, with configurations set to time entry, inform fans about safety measures, and limit contact between staff and fans. Ticket purchasing has also been customized through the latest release of MyProVenue, the client-branded web application. QR Codes Accelerate Patron Tickets at NASCAR’s Talladega Superspeedway

Talladega Ala. – October 16, 2020.  The NASCAR Cup Series Round of 12 Playoffs at Talladega Superspeedway took place on Sunday, Oct. 4.  As NASCAR’s largest (2.66-miles) and fastest track (featuring speeds of over 200 mph), it’s fitting that this would be the destination for lightning-fast patron experiences.

Since allowing patrons back to be a part of the action, NASCAR, like many venues, arenas, and tracks across the globe, have made modifications to provide patrons ways to return safely to events.  They have addressed health and safety measures, including new seating scenarios, entrance enhancements, and more with the help of Tickets.com technology.

“The Fall 2020 Yellawood 500 event weekend brought many changes to Talladega Superspeedway, including 100% Mobile/Ticket at Home tickets for all Grandstands, Parking, and Camping. This was a big change for our fanbase that ended with very positive results,” says Jake Carlisle, Senior Director of Ticketing at Talladega Superspeedway.

For the Cup Series event at Talladega, the track took on QR codes to ensure that patrons did not even have to step up to the box office.  In the past, the ticketing booth had to be operated non-stop, but for the Talladega playoff race won by Denny Hamlin, QR codes and on-site signage provided patrons to direct link to MyProVenue, the Tickets.com digital ticketing solution.

“Patrons could also use this method to pull up their MyProVenue account on their smart phone to show their tickets for gate entry,” added Carlisle. “This was a great cost saver from a ticket operations side since staffing was not necessary within a booth overnight, and our staff was able to get some much-needed rest during a busy race weekend. “Typically, we would load campers in overnight (24 hours), which meant a ticket sale could be made at any time during the night as campers arrive from all over the country. In order to service these customers, a 24-hour ticket booth would have to be operated.”

Starting with signage at the campground load-ins, the staff was able to streamline ticketing into the MyProVenue web application.  By producing on site printed materials, patrons were encouraged to scan QR codes.  Upon QR scan, their tickets were quickly, and easily accessed, and additional ticket purchasing could be made right on the spot using their mobile device.

MyProVenue is optimized to provide patrons a seamless purchase and ticket management experience. With options to add tickets to a digital wallet, tickets sell fast and improve entry traffic.  “We are excited about the opportunities that ProVenue creates for Talladega fans to have a seamless ticketing experience just like this in the future,” Carlisle added.

MLB Postseason Powered by Tickets.com

Arlington , Texas – October, 2020.  Postseason baseball provides unmatched excitement every October and the 2020 Postseason is unlike any other we, as a country, have ever experienced, with new safety measures in play and custom solutions hitting the field.

The Texas Rangers, a long-time client of Tickets.com, host this year’s National League Championship Series (NLCS) and the 116th World Series.  This will be the first World Series played entirely at one site since 1944, when the Cardinals beat the Browns in six games at Sportsman’s Park in St. Louis.

Globe Life Field, the Rangers brand new ballpark, will be the home of the NLCS and World Series, each of which will be played in front of a limited number of fans with comprehensive health and safety protocols. This is a major milestone for the league and for fans who have been waiting all year to experience Major League Baseball live and in person.   Fans immediately responded by purchasing over 93,000 tickets for the potential 14 games of the NLCS and World Series.

Tickets.com technology is supporting MLB’s health and safety protocols for fans.  From a redesigned Postseason purchase flow filled with safety information, to the on-site ticket action with contactless entry, and pod-style seating to maintain social distance.

Tickets.com technology is also powering the first-ever MLB games to have all tickets delivered digitally.  All tickets for the NLCS & World Series will utilize mobile ticket delivery, including the ability to use NFC tap-and-go ticket scanning.

Ticketing in the Bubble

“This has been a baseball season unlike any other, yet still full of excitement,” said Joe Choti, President & CEO of Tickets.com. “We are proud to provide technology solutions that help make this Postseason possible for fans under challenging circumstances.”

The technology at Globe Life Field is state-of-the-art with configurations set to inform fans about safety measures and limit contact between staff and fans.  Tickets.com has outfitted pedestals and suite scanners throughout entry points for contactless access control.

Ticket purchasing has also been customized through the latest release of MyProVenue, the client-branded web application.  This includes big, bold Postseason imagery, as well as safety information throughout the purchase flow.

Tickets for the World Series were in high demand and sold out quickly, but fans still have an opportunity to attend National League Championship Series games with a limited number of tickets still available. Go to https://www.mlb.com/tickets/postseason for more information.

Costa Mesa, CA – July, 2020.  With increased safety and security in mind during the COVID pandemic, Tickets.com continues to bring together technology, products, and services to help our clients provide the best (and safest) experiences.

Tickets.com has teamed up with Boundary Devices to offer kiosks and suite readers that enable self-service operation, enabling patrons to enter venues while maintaining a safe social distance from other patrons and venue staff.

Boundary Devices provides custom-made suite door readers and kiosks/pedestal turnstile hardware that pair with Alfred, the all-in-one access control/ticket validation solution from Tickets.com. Boundary Devices use  Near Field Communications (NFC) technology which provides a frictionless and contactless ticket validation experience.  Pejman Kalkhoran, CEO at Boundary Devices commented,

“Together, Boundary Devices and Tickets.com are delivering an elevated fan experience by enabling venues with the latest in NFC technology.”

Alfred, not only provides the ability to validate traditional barcodes, but also digital tickets and contactless tickets via the convenience of NFC. Alfred supports complex ticket validation rules such as entry/exit scanning, entry restrictions, timed admission, and controlled interior access to areas such as suites and clubs.

Both kiosks/pedestal turnstiles and suite scanners are equipped with barcode readers and NFC sensors for capturing ticket data for validation.  Kiosks/pedestals can be unattended to provide enhanced safety to venue staff and patrons when following social distancing guidelines.   Kalkhoran continued on the benefits, “The introduction of our pedestal scanning solution allows quicker entry into the stadiums while simultaneously reducing personnel costs.  The devices are controlled remotely, providing venues with unparalleled access to the data at each device location.”

Self-service (unattended) entry kiosks are an opportunity to provide a means for ticket validation without the need for interaction with a nearby attendant.  “Our integration with Alfred is a game-changing feature which has resulted in superior performance and improved integration with the Tickets.com ProVenue backend.”

Tickets.com offers a complete and comprehensive, end-to-end technology solution for social distance seating including:

  • Flexible Seating Configuration – set up venue seating based on general admission configurations (seating by zones), reserved seating configurations, or a hybrid of the two approaches, depending on your venue needs.

Contactless scanning devices include pedestals, door/suite readers, and a variety of hand-held scanners.  Plus, the technology built into MyProVenue allows you to display a barcode in strategic areas of your venue which can be scanned by a patron’s mobile device for a contactless walk-up ticket purchase.

More support for Social Distance Seating from Tickets.com

Costa Mesa, CA – June 18th, 2020 –  As a growing number of venues begin opening and adapting to new ticketing and seating scenarios, Tickets.com has been working to continuously educate venues about the innovative capabilities of the ProVenue®  ticketing system that align with the changing needs of venues.

“Our goal is to continuously provide the tools and support for successful venue operations, even in an uncertain landscape,” commented Joe Choti, Chief Executive Officer at Tickets.com. “Venues can work with a variety of seating configurations (reserved, general admission or a hybrid) to adapt to the social distancing guidelinesBy leveraging ProVenue’s native functionality we are here to support safe ways to bring patrons back to live events.”

New Seating Configuration for Social Distance Seating

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a need for people from different households to maintain a safe and respectful physical distance to reduce any risk of cross-contamination. At live events, this means that patrons will have to enter the venue using social distancing guidelines and be seated where no one in any single party is within a pre-determined distance from another group.

With existing setup options in ProVenue, Tickets.com makes Social Distance Seating configuration accessible for venues in a variety of ways:

  • Reserved Seat Configuration –The ProVenue technology allows venues to configure reserved seats for Social Distance Seating using Hold Codes to limit sales of contiguous seats to a single party and automatically enforce a safe distance between groups of patrons.

When using a Reserved Seat Configuration, venues can also set permissions to limit ticket forwarding and resale actions in order to preserve social distancing with attending patrons.

  • General Admission Configuration – ProVenue also allows venues to use a General Admission Configuration for Social Distance Seating. Existing settings in ProVenue allow you to easily limit capacity for each General Admission seating area to ensure a safe distance between patrons. As social distancing rules change, the settings can easily be adjusted to increase capacity and revenue.
  • Hybrid Configuration – Like a sculptor molding clay, organizations have the power within ProVenue to create venues and seating areas of different shapes and sizes depending on their needs.  The flexibility is only bound by imagination.  For example, in a hybrid configuration using ProVenue, an organization can combine one or more Reserved Seat and General Admission areas within the same venue for the same event, offering complete flexibility and control in the configuration of Social Distance Seating options.
  • Each organization will need to evaluate their venue configuration to determine adherence to appropriate governmental guidelines.

The dynamic nature of ProVenue is powerful and when it comes to re-opening events under social distancing guidelines, Tickets.com is ready today.

Welcome back NASCAR fans!

NASCAR is welcoming fans back, by invitation only, to the racetrack this month with open arms.  It’s a different experience than we are used to, with a reduced capacity at the speedways, and new social distance seating measures in place, but NASCAR and Tickets.com have been working tirelessly to bring back what the world has sorely missed: live events.

NASCAR is one the first live sports partner at Tickets.com to open up seating under social distancing guidelines.  President and CEO Joe Choti commented,

“We are excited to bring our ProVenue and MyProVenue technology solutions to NASCAR in order to get fans back into seats. With a safety-first approach, gate entry, seating configuration, and ticket sales have been arranged in new ways”.

Allowing fans to get back into the driver’s seat of live events safely is paramount. On June 14th, Homestead Miami Speedway is hosting a fan event with complimentary tickets for the U.S. Military by invitation only, and on June 21st, Talladega Superspeedway is hosting an event for current in-state ticket holders by invitation only.  Both events have been setup using existing ProVenue features which allow ticket sales in ProVenue and MyProVenue that adhere to social distancing guidelines.

The tracks are organized using social distance guidelines, including staggered entry and seating arrangements to keep groups of fans at a distance, even on the campgrounds.

And of course, NASCAR fans will look a little different with face masks.

Tickets.com  supports  several ways for  venues to handle the new normal, including contactless ticketing with NFC (Near Field Communications)  which allows for less touch points at venue entry. Patrons just present their tickets that they stored as “passes” in Apple® Wallet or Google Pay® near a scanning location for entry – no barcode or contact with venue staff needed.

NASCAR and Tickets.com are on the road to new wins by bringing back fans.

Memorial Day: Remember & Honor

Today we honor the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice serving our nation.  We also would like to recognize the U.S. military, our veterans, and all of the first responders on this day.

Experience is everything to us at Tickets.com.  Through our T.Cares initiative, we partner with non-profit organizations to build unforgettable event experiences for individuals and their families.  Throughout the years we have gifted experiences to our military heroes with the help of the non-profit organization, Vet Tix.

One of our most unforgettable experiences was in Surprise, Arizona.  This year we had the pleasure of inviting service members, veterans, first responders, and their families to join us in Surprise, Arizona at Surprise Stadium for seven Baseball Spring Training games through Vet Tix.  As baseball fans wait for the season to come, we remember these special moments.

Our honored guests were given premium seats, ‘Baseball Bucks’, a public announcement, and as a special tribute, each guest took to the mound and threw out the first pitch before each of the seven games.

Thank you to Vet Tix for this memory, we look forward to building new experiences with you again soon.

About Vet Tix:
