Double celebration for Pavilion Theatre Rhyl as Tickets.com celebrates 25-year partnership

The Pavilion Theatre in Rhyl celebrated its 25th anniversary this month, with a special Gala Concert. Over the last quarter of a century an eclectic mix of artists and performers have appeared at the seaside venue, with Tickets.com by their side since the very start.

As the third Pavilion in Rhyl with a longstanding history that dates back to 1891, the current Pavilion Theatre has employed three of its ticketing staff since its opening in 1991 – operations manager and deputy manager Val Simmons, box office supervisor Tina Evans and box office assistant Donna Battisa.

To celebrate the 25-year anniversary, a special poster was presented to the three staff members by Tickets.com and was signed by all the team currently working at Tickets.com. In that time, the theatre has progressed from using the original DOS system Pass1 to using Tickets.com’s ProVenue suite of products to manage all ticketing requirements.

In recognition of the theatre’s development and strategy to constantly evolve and innovate its business processes, the Pavilion also uses customised web page solution ProVenueOnline® to facilitate 24/7 online sales and ProVenueConnect™, Tickets.com’s all-in-one email marketing software that provides customers with the essential features needed to create, send, track and profit from email marketing.

Operations manager Val Simmons has worked closely with Tickets.com since starting at the Pavilion. Speaking on the partnership, Val said: “Since we first engaged Tickets.com in 1991, we have not only seen our systems and processes advance greatly but also our relationship with the staff there.”

“The support desk is always on hand to resolve any queries that we might have and the onsite training provided is excellent. We’ve really enjoyed working so closely with the Tickets.com team over the last 25 years and look forward to many more!”

On Sunday 18 September, Rhyl Pavilion celebrated its 25th anniversary with a special Gala Concert, which featured an all Welsh cast. Former X-Factor runner-up Rhydian led the performance, alongside popular local actress Rebecca Trehearn and Holywell boys Richard and Adam Johnson, who were operatic finalists on Britain’s Got Talent.

The Pavilion is renowned for its variety of productions and events, making the flexibility of its ticketing system an important feature for Val and her team: “We need to be able to determine how and when we sell tickets and thanks to Tickets.com, we are able to manage the sales process ourselves very easily and efficiently.”

Derek Palmer, Tickets.com’s managing director and executive vice president, international, said: “On behalf of all the team at Tickets.com I wanted to say a huge congratulations to Val and her colleagues at Pavilion Theatre Rhyl for achieving this fantastic milestone. Pavilion Theatre Rhyl have been long term clients of Tickets.com and the relationship is one of true partnership.

“I am delighted that we can continue to offer the products, technology and service to support their determination to innovate and succeed and I am sure there will be many more amazing shows and milestones achieved in future years.”

The 1031 seated Pavilion Theatre attracts visitors from North Wales, the Cheshire border region and beyond and hosts a wide variety of shows including West End musicals, orchestral concerts, ballet and contemporary dance, stand-up comedy and community theatre.

Tickets.com supports fourth bi-annual Milton Keynes International Festival

Tickets.com is working with longstanding client the Stables to provide a complete ticketing solution for next month’s Milton Keynes International Festival.

IF:2016 is the fourth edition of the bi-annual festival; run by the Stables, the International Festival is a mixed arts event held at different venues in and around Milton Keynes. In 2014, over 25,000 tickets were sold, bringing together 267 professional artists and acts across the ten days.

Tickets.com has worked with the Stables for more than 15 years and has provided ticketing for the festival since it began in 2010; this includes the provision of additional hardware and support from the Tickets.com service desk to ensure the smooth running of the multi-venue festival, which requires remote access to the ticketing system.

“The Tickets.com technical team play a vital role in the setup of our Festival box offices, which begins two months out from the event,” explains Sharona Voigtlander-Ford, box office promotions manager at the Stables.

“With such a busy programme scheduled across multiple venues, its essential that we have a ticketing provider who not only ensures that each event is set up correctly and that our staff have the necessary equipment in place to manage the ticketing, but who are also on-hand throughout the ten days to support with any changes or further requests. Knowing that the Tickets.com team are able to do this – and often at short notice – is fantastic and a real asset to ensuring the successful delivery of the Festival.”

Nick Kinsella, technical account manager at Tickets.com, said: “Having worked with the Stables for many years, we’ve got a great relationship with the team and an in-depth understanding of their ticketing requirements. The International Festival is a busy event and one that we look forward to being a part of; many of our staff live locally and take the time to attend some of the events, so it’s great to be able to show our support in this way too.”

This year’s festival will feature both indoor and outdoor performances including stand-up comedy, live music, family activities, free events and pop-ups; focused on encouraging more people to discover different art forms and help boost tourism in the area.

Yeovil Town FC becomes first English club to adopt ProVenue ticketing system

Yeovil Town FC, a Tickets.com client since 2012, has recently migrated across to ProVenue to manage all of the club’s ticketing requirements.

Football League Two side Yeovil Town went live with the new ticketing system in time for its pre-season friendly against Swindon Town in July; the first home league game ticketed through ProVenue was a 2-0 win against Notts County.

The decision to move across to ProVenue was made to boost the club’s online ticket sales and experience for its fans; already sales online are up on last season’s per-game average and feedback from supporters has been very positive.

“Moving across to ProVenue was a major step forward for the club; it will enable us to provide an improved ticketing experience for our fans and encourage more ticket sales online, which is something we are working hard to achieve,” said Robert Baker, Ticket Office Manager at Yeovil Town.

The club also wanted to upgrade to ProVenue to benefit from the system’s advanced CRM features. ProVenue allows users to capture data in a variety of formats to support in the analysis of trends, to develop metrics and facilitate targeted marketing campaigns.

A quick turnaround to get the new system up and running in time for the start of the Football League season was essential; the club’s longstanding relationship with Tickets.com’s support and customer services team was vital to this, as Robert explains, “We’ve worked really closely with Tickets.com to ensure that the new system was designed and built to meet our ticketing needs – and, against a tight deadline, the team delivered exactly what was required. Their in-depth understanding of the club is invaluable and we have a fantastic relationship with the team there.”

Nick Kinsella at Tickets.com said: “We’re really pleased with the feedback so far from Robert and his team since the club went live with ProVenue; the system’s advanced functionality will enable them to offer their fans so much more in the way of an online experience and its reliable, user-friendly features will support the growth in online ticket sales.”

Tickets.com has today announced the introduction of the latest version of its ticketing system, ProVenue®, for the popular Antwerp-based ticket outlet & cultural information centre, Info Cultuur, and popular youth theatre HETPALEIS.

ProVenue’s popularity continues to grow globally, with dozens of leading performing arts venues and professional sports clubs having implemented the system in North America, Australia and Europe, including the world renowned opera house Semperoper, in Dresden, Germany.

Info Cultuur launched ProVenue® at the start of May with the sale of Zomerateliers, a series of children’s workshops taking place across Antwerp throughout the summer. Tickets for future events will also be available to buy online and at the Info Cultuur box office.

HETPALEIS is the second organisation in Belgium to implement ProVenue® in recent weeks; HETPALEIS’s decision to update the ticketing system was made in order to meet the growing demands of its customers.

“We enjoyed a very successful start to ticket sales for the new season thanks to ProVenue®,” confirmed Frank Meyer, POS and application administrator from HETPALEIS.

“Thanks to the support from the Tickets.com team we were very well prepared and as a consequence, we experienced minimal disruption and queries from staff during the opening days of ticket sales – we’re pleased we made the transition to ProVenue®!”

The Tickets.com team made the short (!) journey along to stadiummk last weekend to cheer on MK Dons as they faced Brighton & Hove Albion.

As part of the longstanding partnership with the Championship side, Tickets.com were the official match sponsors of last Saturday’s fixture against promotion-chasing side Brighton & Hove Albion.

Ross County FC wins Scottish League Cup

A huge congratulations from everyone at Tickets.com to Ross County FC – winners of the Scottish League Cup 2015/16!

Scottish Premiership side and Tickets.com client Ross County FC made history earlier this month by winning the 70th Scottish League Cup final and picking up the club’s first ever major trophy.

In what was a closely-contested game played at Hampden Park, Ross County took the lead after 25 minutes before Scottish Championship side Hibernian equalised just before half time.

The second half saw a goal disallowed for Ross County but as the game looked set to be heading for extra time, the Staggies’ Dutch striker Alex Schalk scored in the final minute of the match to seal the win and the first major trophy in the club’s history.

The Highland side has been using Tickets.com’s ProVenue® suite of products as the platform for supporting all ticketing requirements throughout the Scottish League Cup campaign, with the solution enabling the club to successfully meet the extremely high demand for the 7000 tickets allocated to Ross County supporters for the final at Hampden Park.

The club first engaged with Tickets.com in time for the start of the 2015/16 season, in a new long-term agreement as part of the club’s wider strategy to improve fan experience; a move that saw Ross County become the latest addition to Tickets.com’s portfolio of professional football clubs which includes fellow Scottish Premiership sides Aberdeen, Dundee and Dundee United.

Red Sox to Launch Official Resale Ticketing Platform For Fans to Buy and Sell Red Sox Tickets

BOSTON, MA – The Red Sox today announced plans to launch a new online resale ticket platform where fans can buy and sell Red Sox tickets. “Red Sox Replay” will be available to all fans through their Red Sox “My Tickets” account. The platform is scheduled to go live on March 1 at redsoxreplay.com.

Red Sox Replay allows sellers to set the ticket price and even provides the option of automatically donating tickets to the Red Sox Foundation for a tax credit should they remain unsold by a certain date or time.

The new platform will have lower fees for buyers than competing sites, and because it is fully integrated with the Red Sox ticketing system, tickets will be sent electronically, eliminating the need for printing and shipping.

Red Sox season ticket holders will have added incentives to use the site, including lower fees and the option of a full fee reimbursement towards renewal of their season ticket account. The group will also earn Red Sox Rewards points with each sale.

“Over the years, one of the requests we have heard most from our season ticket holders is to provide them with a safe, trusted, and convenient way to sell their unused Red Sox tickets,” said Red Sox President Sam Kennedy. “Creating our own secondary market platform enables us to provide an option that guarantees buyers the authenticity of their purchase and allows users to work directly with the Red Sox to resolve any customer service issues, which is not always possible with a third party vendor.”

Red Sox Replay is being created in partnership with MLBAM and Tickets.com, and will be available on mobile devices and through the free MLB.com Ballpark app.
