(Vienna, VA) – Last weekend, Tickets.com was proud to sponsor the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts 50th Anniversary Gala, an event as bright and beautiful as the venue. All proceeds from the event directly support Wolf Trap Foundation’s arts and education community programs.

The evening began with a sip at the cocktail reception and sparkling conversations.  Dinner was served in the recently renovated open-air pavilions located throughout the Park, whose grand, heavy timber, al-fresco structures were trimmed from table-top to tree-lines with lanterns, and décor that echoed of the natural surroundings. The dining experience was both elegant and fantastical with a locally sourced, fall-inspired menu.  After dinner, guests were escorted to the Filene Center for remarks from Wolf Trap Foundation leadership and a private performance by The Avett Brothers.

The Filene Center

The Filene Center at Wolf Trap is an amphitheater built to embrace the beauty of the surrounding National Park while providing an exceptional venue in which to host performances from May through September each year. Performances cover the full spectrum of music and performing arts genres and patrons choose from covered seats within the cathedral-like open air pavilion or spreading out on the lawn under the stars.

Email Marketing: Emojis in Emails 🎟

Fun & Playful, Emojis: Can they help or hurt your emails?

It seems like a small thing, but the subject line in an email is a major factor in increasing your open rate. 

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves – is the emoji in a subject line right for everything?  Probably not.

And if we send too many emails with Emojis it can also have a negative effect on consumers which ultimately unsubscribe. 

So, what’s the answer?  Testing of course!  Make sure you test your subject lines using A/B testing.  This can help you determine if the Emoji is an attention grabber or an annoyance.

As you put your tests together, here are some best practices to consider.

  • It can be too much of a good thing: Just like WRITING IN ALL CAPS, too many Emojis may indicate spam to recipients.
  • Context is key: with thousands of Emojis you can customize your choice to be relevant.
  • Consider your target audience: A survey of 1,000 Americans showed that, millennials regard using emojis positively.
  • Email Tone: Emojis can change an email from formal to playful. If you are messaging something serious, maybe skip the Emoji.

2020/21 CHAMPIONS – MELBOURNE ACES

North Wollongong, Australia – Monday, February 15th 2021, the Australian Baseball League (ABL) 2020/21 season has come to an unprecedented, yet successful end during the COVID-19 pandemic. Tickets.com congratulates the 2020/21 Claxton Shield Championship winners, the Melbourne Aces.

The ABL began doing business with Tickets.com during the World Baseball Classic Qualifier in 2016, and the pair signed a league deal shortly thereafter.  In 2020, the ABL renewed a 5-year deal with Tickets.com. The ABL utilises Tickets.com’s ProVenue® suite of products and services offerings, including the administrative support in creating events on behalf of the participating teams, provided by Tickets.com staff.

Memorial Day: Remember & Honor

Today we honor the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice serving our nation.  We also would like to recognize the U.S. military, our veterans, and all of the first responders on this day.

Experience is everything to us at Tickets.com.  Through our T.Cares initiative, we partner with non-profit organizations to build unforgettable event experiences for individuals and their families.  Throughout the years we have gifted experiences to our military heroes with the help of the non-profit organization, Vet Tix.

One of our most unforgettable experiences was in Surprise, Arizona.  This year we had the pleasure of inviting service members, veterans, first responders, and their families to join us in Surprise, Arizona at Surprise Stadium for seven Baseball Spring Training games through Vet Tix.  As baseball fans wait for the season to come, we remember these special moments.

Our honored guests were given premium seats, ‘Baseball Bucks’, a public announcement, and as a special tribute, each guest took to the mound and threw out the first pitch before each of the seven games.
