MLB Postseason Powered by Tickets.com

Arlington , Texas – October, 2020.  Postseason baseball provides unmatched excitement every October and the 2020 Postseason is unlike any other we, as a country, have ever experienced, with new safety measures in play and custom solutions hitting the field.

The Texas Rangers, a long-time client of Tickets.com, host this year’s National League Championship Series (NLCS) and the 116th World Series.  This will be the first World Series played entirely at one site since 1944, when the Cardinals beat the Browns in six games at Sportsman’s Park in St. Louis.

Globe Life Field, the Rangers brand new ballpark, will be the home of the NLCS and World Series, each of which will be played in front of a limited number of fans with comprehensive health and safety protocols. This is a major milestone for the league and for fans who have been waiting all year to experience Major League Baseball live and in person.   Fans immediately responded by purchasing over 93,000 tickets for the potential 14 games of the NLCS and World Series.

Tickets.com technology is supporting MLB’s health and safety protocols for fans.  From a redesigned Postseason purchase flow filled with safety information, to the on-site ticket action with contactless entry, and pod-style seating to maintain social distance.

Tickets.com technology is also powering the first-ever MLB games to have all tickets delivered digitally.  All tickets for the NLCS & World Series will utilize mobile ticket delivery, including the ability to use NFC tap-and-go ticket scanning.

Ticketing in the Bubble

“This has been a baseball season unlike any other, yet still full of excitement,” said Joe Choti, President & CEO of Tickets.com. “We are proud to provide technology solutions that help make this Postseason possible for fans under challenging circumstances.”

The technology at Globe Life Field is state-of-the-art with configurations set to inform fans about safety measures and limit contact between staff and fans.  Tickets.com has outfitted pedestals and suite scanners throughout entry points for contactless access control.

Ticket purchasing has also been customized through the latest release of MyProVenue, the client-branded web application.  This includes big, bold Postseason imagery, as well as safety information throughout the purchase flow.

Tickets for the World Series were in high demand and sold out quickly, but fans still have an opportunity to attend National League Championship Series games with a limited number of tickets still available. Go to https://www.mlb.com/tickets/postseason for more information.
