T.Cares Indianapolis Indians Charities Hispanic Heritage Celebration 2021

¡Pleibol! The Indianapolis Indians celebrated Hispanic Heritage with the help of Tickets.com

(Indianapolis, IN) September 17th marked a historical moment for the Indianapolis Indians. For the first time in franchise history, the Indianapolis Indians created a one-of-a-kind Hispanic Heritage celebration during the game with the help of Tickets.com.

T.Cares, the Tickets.com community outreach program and Indianapolis Indians Charities (IIC) worked together with La Plaza Inc., the longest-standing Latino nonprofit in Central Indiana to create this one-of-a-kind ¡Pleibol! experience.

The Hispanic Heritage Experience

To support the Hispanic Scholarship Fund for educational programs, social services. and workforce development efforts, IIC proudly presented La Plaza Inc. with an $8,000 check on field during a pregame ceremony. These funds will support student scholarships in $2,000 increments for the next four years.

T.Cares provided families within the La Plaza Inc. community with complimentary tickets and event t-t-shirts to the Indianapolis Indians game along with food and beverage vouchers.

The game began with an on-field performance by Grupo Folclorico Macehuani, an Indianapolis dance group focused on preserving Mexican culture and traditions through dance and music. Ballet Folklorico Mosaicos performed twice during the game on the dugouts after the third and fifth inning. This Indianapolis-based nonprofit, also based in Mexican culture, has traveled to Chicago, Louisville, Vincennes and beyond for performances.

The La Plaza Inc. families and staff were also featured participants in the Play Ball and Junior Announcer openings, the Victory Field postgame ringing and pre-fireworks ‘Spark for Change’ release.

Vaccinated Sections

San Francisco Giants Offer More Fan Ticket Options & Vaccinated Seating Sections

San Francisco, CA (May 3rd, 2021) – Earlier this month, the San Francisco Giants welcomed baseball fans back to Oracle Park with limited seating capacity.  As is the case with the rest of the live event world, seating capacity continues to evolve as health conditions improve.  By their second homestand, the Giants were able to expand seating capacity by introducing vaccinated sections within Oracle Park.

The new vaccinated seating sections are separate from the physically-distanced, pod seating areas and allow for more fans to attend upcoming games.

With these sections now on sale to the public, fully vaccinated fans can choose to purchase single tickets, tickets for odd-numbered party sizes, or buy tickets for larger groups. Additionally, socially distanced seating pods remain a viable option for any fan. The ticket purchase options are managed within MyProVenue™, the patron-facing web application for tickets organized by each protected sales group.  MyProVenue allows the Giants and Tickets.com to efficiently manage the seating inventory to ensure that the new vaccinated seating sections won’t overlap with the pod-seating sections.  Ashley Connor, Sr. Manager Ticket Solutions, San Francisco Giants commented,

“Protected Sales Groups allowed us to offer fans seating at their comfort level while managing complex seating requirements. We recognized that optionality is important to fans as we gradually increase seating capacity based on approval from local public health officials. Protected Sale Groups enables us to rollout vaccinated or social distance seating based on fan demand without rescaling the seating manifest in advance.”

At Oracle Park

On site, the Giants used Near Field Communications (NFC) ticket scanning at entrances and kept fan contact to a minimum by seating fans at a physical distance from one another.  Using the Janam® handheld scanners, Apple Wallet™ & Google Pay™ NFC  digital tickets are validated by Alfred™, the all in-one access control solution from Tickets.com.

Getting Back to Fans in Stands – Baseball Season Is Back!

April 1, 2021 – Costa Mesa, CA.  Play Ball!  It seems like a lifetime since the World Series at Globe Life Field. Subsequently, Tickets.com and Major League Baseball have come a long way to build a comprehensive plan by expanding technology, hardware, and services to support the reopening of stadiums across the nation to fans.

Utilizing in-depth safety precautions and security measures at the ballpark, fans can expect a safe, clean, and friendly environment to enjoy baseball.  Fans can also expect more from their ticketing by utilizing Tickets.com’s powerful, enterprise-grade products, including a redesigned digital ticket purchase flow in MyProVenue™ with detailed safety information, plus pod-style seating to maintain physical distance in the upcoming season.  Here are some things to expect for the upcoming MLB season:

Optimized Seating & Ticket Sales:
  • Clubs with limited capacity due to social distance seating considerations have optimized seating and defined purchasing scenarios in order to safely invite fans into the stands using ProVenue®,  our back-office ticketing solution.
  • Ticket purchasing has been configured to maximize the available inventory while maintaining the integrity of the applicable “pod” or seating group.
  • Season Ticket holders and returning fans will be able to consume their Account Credits online to enable flexibility and get them to as many games as possible.
Digital Tickets and Increased Safety Information:
  • Tickets.com has made it easier than ever for fans to purchase digital tickets using MyProVenue on their mobile device or desktop, including support for Mastercard Click to Pay.
  • As capacity constraints lessen and more fans return, on-site messaging via QR codes may be available to help support fans making self-service purchases as a ‘contactless box office’ while continuing to limit contact with ballpark staff.
  • Fans can also expect staggered physical entry in some cases, reducing potential crowds as a safety precaution.  Using ticket validation rules in ProVenue and more detailed ticket information on-site and on the MyProVenue digital ticket, fans will enter in ways that adhere to safe distance practices.
  • Additional Health Surveys will be used at certain ballparks through the MLB Ballpark app.
Frictionless Ballpark Entry :
  • Gate and suite entrances will also utilize a more frictionless ticket validation experience running on Alfred™, the Tickets.com mobile concierge. Alfred validates tickets and seamlessly synchronizes information with ProVenue, the back-office ticketing platform, providing ballparks with a more comprehensive look at each entrance, such as volume of fans by location.
  • The widespread use of digital tickets on mobile devices within MyProVenue makes entry into the ballpark simple for fans and speedy to validate using Alfred.
  • Using a variety of devices, such as pedestals and hand-held scanners, clubs will provide a digital and, in some cases, contactless ticket validation experience for fans.  Contactless tickets use Near-Field Communication (NFC) with Apple® Wallet and Google Pay™ to make the fan entry faster by triggering validation from the mobile device when in near proximity to the pedestal or hand-held scanner.  There is no need to find or scan a barcode to get into the game.

Tampa Bay Rays Introduce Flexible Season Memberships

St. Petersburg, Fla. (Feb. 19, 2021) – The American League Champion Tampa Bay Rays announced a new and innovative Season Membership model powered by Tickets.com. As the Rays prepare for the long-awaited return of fans to Tropicana Field for the 2021 regular season, they have adapted to meet new fan needs in ticketing and experiences.

The Membership

New this season, Season Member­ships allow fans a choice of six distinct membership levels, each with its own associated discounts, rewards and seating location options. When fans return to the stands, Season Memberships offer the flexibility to redeem credit for as many games as fans would like to attend in a way that best fits their schedule

“A season membership provides a great way to join the Rays family while receiving tremendous flex­ibility and value, along with priority access to tickets and incredible benefits throughout the year,”

said Rays Vice President of Ticket Sales & Service Jeff Tanzer.

Safety

With safety in mind, socially distant seating is a priority for the Rays. They continue to work with Major League Baseball and local public health officials to determine when and how to safely welcome fans back to Tropicana Field. Plans include health and safety protocols, such as reduced capacity, socially distant seating and mandatory face masks.

The Rays intend to announce further information prior to the start of the season. If games are impacted by COVID-19, season members with tickets to impacted games will receive credit to their MyProVenue™ MyTickets™ account for future ticket purchases or as a refund to the original method of payment.

Fan Experience

Fans with memberships can easily log into MyProVenue™ to see details on their membership level and to manage their seating choices.

In addition, current Rays Season Members will be notified in the coming weeks on how to select their new Season Membership package for the 2021 season.

Our honored guests were given premium seats, ‘Baseball Bucks’, a public announcement, and as a special tribute, each guest took to the mound and threw out the first pitch before each of the seven games.
